Luxury Afternoon Tea Party in Belgrade, Serbia
On March 8, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a grand and elegant afternoon tea party at the luxurious Hotel Prezident Palace in Dorćol, celebrating International Women’s Day in the most sophisticated and delightful way. The timing, the market, and my established presence in Belgrade’s creative and business community all aligned perfectly to make this the first big and lavish afternoon tea party I have hosted in three years. The atmosphere was just as I had envisioned—sunny, warm, and filled with incredible women from different industries coming together to celebrate this special occasion.
From 12 PM to 4 PM, twenty international and local women from business, the creative community, corporate sectors, finance, and tech gathered for an afternoon of elegance, connection, and celebration. As the guests arrived, they were welcomed with exquisite welcome drinks and the mesmerizing presence of ballerinas, setting the tone for the opulence of the afternoon. The long table was beautifully decorated, and each guest had an assigned seat to ensure the perfect mix of networking and social engagement.
A key tradition of my afternoon tea gatherings is the ritual of introductions. As we settled in, I invited each guest to introduce themselves, fostering an atmosphere of openness and connection. It was inspiring to hear the stories of so many accomplished women, each bringing a unique perspective and energy to the table. After the introductions, I took the opportunity to share a heartfelt speech about the significance of International Women’s Day and my vision for hosting these gatherings. My goal has always been to create a space where international and local women—whether they are entrepreneurs, creatives, or professionals in finance and tech—can come together and bond over the shared experience of afternoon tea.
Following my speech, the highly trained staff, dressed immaculately with white gloves, began the impeccable service of delicious appetizers. The conversations around the table flowed effortlessly as guests enjoyed a selection of exquisite bites, paired with laughter and engaging discussions. Once the appetizers were savored, I encouraged my guests to rise from their seats and socialize as the staff prepared the table for the tea and sweets course. This transition allowed for more intimate conversations and networking, and the room was soon filled with animated discussions and laughter as guests mingled and connected beyond their assigned seats.
As we returned to our beautifully reset table, the excitement grew as guests perused the tea menu, selecting from an array of premium teas. The service was flawless, and the anticipation of indulging in a proper afternoon tea experience added to the sense of occasion. A highlight of the event was the presence of our esteemed guest speaker, Szenana Ducic, who captivated us with insights from her impressive 20+ year career in media. Her words resonated with many, inspiring a room full of ambitious and talented women.
Adding an element of surprise and delight, I organized a special raffle featuring generous gifts from our wonderful sponsors. Guests had the chance to win gift certificates from Levita Ballet & Stretching Studio, Klinika Papić Gynecology, and Hotel Prezident Palace. The excitement and joy in the room were palpable as winners were announced and prizes were received.
As the event neared its conclusion, we took more beautiful photographs to capture the essence of the day—a gathering of powerful, inspiring women in an atmosphere of luxury and celebration. As a final touch, I gifted each guest a lily, a symbol of grace and admiration, to thank them for joining this unforgettable afternoon.
The energy, love, laughter, and sheer elegance of the event were truly unparalleled. It was an afternoon of meaningful connections, heartfelt conversations, and indulgence in the timeless tradition of afternoon tea. As we bid farewell, the anticipation for our next gathering in May was already building. The next event will be a breathtaking rooftop garden afternoon tea, promising another spectacular afternoon of sophistication and camaraderie.
