Afro Festival 2025
This past weekend, I had the joy of attending the Afro Festival 2025 at the Museum of African Art — and let me tell you, it was magical
The annual Afro Festival, bringing together African embassies, cultural organizations, artists, and families to celebrate African heritage and Serbia’s long-standing connection with the African continent.
The festival grounds were buzzing. Embassies and cultural representatives from countries like Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana, Angola, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Gabon, Algeria, and even Jamaica and Brazil were present. There were traditional drums, fashion, handmade crafts, and beautiful displays of culture and pride. I ran into familiar faces I had met at other diplomatic events like Canada Day — which made me realize how important it is to keep showing up in these spaces. You never know who’s watching or what doors can open.
I did capture amazing video content for my upcoming YouTube vlog and TikTok, and I plan to include highlights from this event in my newsletter, The Belgrade Edition.
If you're visiting or living in Belgrade and want something unique I recommend going to the Museum of African Art. It's family-friendly, globally connected, and filled with heart.
Until next year, Afro Festival — thank you for the joy.
